Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has been featured in films and television in addition to on stage, is most well-known for her role as Teri Joseph, a flamboyant attorney featured in Showtime's Soul Food. After her marriage she became Nikki Kodjoe. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from childhood and received an award for the best Actress award at the Maryland high school competition. In the years following her involvement in theatre and with "The Washington Ballet Company" and "The Washington Ballet Company", she earned an acting diploma from New York University. Her first major role in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love fetched the most admiration. Contractor who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning 7years old, traveled all over all over the world and had a taste of diverse cultures when he was a kid. She was a boarding student in London from seven to nine years of age, and then her family moved towards Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her youth and early adulthood. Contractor trained and eventually became an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school that specializes in the arts) the student studied dance and theatre. At 16 and after more than 10 years of dancing Contractor discovered she was looking to take up acting as a profession. She accepted a full-scholarship to study at the University of Toronto after graduating. She earned a master's degree in theatre and double majored in sociology and psychology. Following a year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles in the highly regarded and renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the leading role. Her work was highly acclaimed throughout the 92 productions she appeared in. She was awarded an award in 2002, which was awarded to the most outstanding production of the Year by Canadian Critics. The actor was invited to join Stratford's conservatory course, in which a select eight men and four females are selected for a course lasting 20 weeks on the classical stage that she eagerly took. The role was secured for Contractor during the upcoming series of plays as she was offered the character as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
